Gemstones are timeless as a memento as well as an investment! In “Borchert and the Trail of Diamonds”, Christian Kohlund as the title character represents a client who wants to revolutionize the industry with artificial jewels and comes under suspicion of murder. In the 19th film in the series, David Rott plays a businessman who is dragged into the abyss by a web of affairs, debts and lies. But the question is: is the bon vivant really the culprit or is he being framed? While Ina Paule Klink, as the head of the law firm, trusts the suspect despite some untruths, Pierre Kiwitt, alias Captain Furrer, wants to force him to confess. Award-winning cinematographer Birgit Gudjonsdottir directs Connie Walther in this emotional “Zurich crime thriller”.

Borchert (Christian Kohlund) hates it when someone lies to him. From the very first meeting with murder suspect Xavier Schliemann (David Rott), a childhood sweetheart of the head of the law firm Dominique (Ina Paule Klink), he begins to doubt his sincerity. The smart diamond dealer denies having shot his ex-business partner Nikol (Jana Podlipná) in her hotel room. Instead of testifying to Captain Furrer (Pierre Kiwitt) as agreed, Xavier goes into hiding with the help of his best friend Katharina Kolling (Katja Lechthaler). Borchert has had enough: he will only continue if the suspect tells him the truth! Now the “lawyer without a license” encounters a fierce battle for survival in the jewelry industry, which his client is stirring up with synthetic diamonds. The fact that Xavier, who is about to marry his pregnant fiancée Greta (Nurit Hirschfeld), is in financial difficulties makes the case even more complicated. Only when Borchert and Dominique understand who really wants to get even with the “Ladies Man” do they discover a plan for revenge.
